We're all about the cycling scene in Atlantic Canada, not just talking about it, but assisting its existing! PedalTrout is for people who live, breathe, eat, sleep and fantasize about cycling on the trail, on the road, at the jumps, at the park. Whether you need to post a ride, promote an event, find riding buddies, or tell us what gets you stoked to hammer, you'll find PedalTrout is there to help. Check out the Forums to see what's on the mind of the local bike community. Post up pics to show us where it's at. Write a How To article and add it to the magazine - PedalTrout is what you make it.

You'll notice that there's more to PedalTrout than bikes. That's because cycling is a lifestyle. People make up a cycling scene and PedalTrout is all about those people. PedalTrout may not be fancy, and it may not be big, but we hope it will become as much as part of cycling in Atlantic Canada as post-ride beers and lending a tube.

Shops, Clubs and other Cycling-related interest groups are invited to apply for their own free section in the Forum, add news and results to the Magazine, or post up a race, clinic or sale on the Events page.

PedalTrout is all about keeping it real and creating a scene on the fly. This is your site and your community. If there's something you'd like to see on PedalTrout feel free to make a suggestion. Roll with it!

PedalTrout is an Awfully Weird Name

Yup. That's true. But there's a reason for everything.

Where I come from in Newfoundland, if someone speaks to you fondly they're likely to call you "Me Ole Trout". It's like being called "Dear" in Cape Breton or "Ma Petite Pamplemousse" in Shediac (ok, maybe I made that one up just a bit). Familiarity and intimacy are qualities that help East Coast communities prosper and survive so an endearing term like "trout" seemed appropriate. And the Pedal part? Well, SneakerTrout makes no sense at all.
