Hi Nature Trust Volunteers!
Come lend
a hand in the trail work happening at our Purcell’s Cove
Conservation Lands on September 11th! No
previous experience is required and our Trails Consultant will
teach you the skill sets needed to lend a hand. The day will be fun
and full of learning, but will require physical work, moving rocks
and other natural materials.
We will be meeting at the trail head opposite Battery Lane on
Purcell’s Cove Road at 9 am. We’ll work until 3 pm, with a noon
time lunch break all together at Purcell’s Pond.
Plan on wearing sturdy boots, long trousers and bring work gloves
if you have them. Pack a
lunch and lots of water. We will be working with
loppers, rakes and trail tools, so instruction on safe tool use
will be provided.
If you have any questions or wish to express your interest in
participating please RSVP to Sally-Jo at sallyjo@nsnt.ca or 406-3320. If you
know of someone else who might be interested, please pass this info
along.
Also - you're also invited to participate in a volunteer
appreciation event afterwords (see below for more info. Trail
builders will meet up with hikers for a volunteer appreciation
picnic in the afternoon).
