Hello Everyone, happy 2012!

As you know, the NSMTBTA and Bicycle Nova Scotia have been working together over the past year towards a partnership. We are pleased to announce that at their AGM on January 15th, BNS members voted in favour of amending their bylaws to incorporate the NSMTBTA as a new arm of BNS. We will now be recognized as the Mountain Bike Trails and Off-Road Advocacy sector. We will largely continue to function as we have in the past, however as a part of BNS we will recognize the advantages of increased funding opportunities and a larger membership base. We hope that we can benefit BNS by contributing to ta broadened representation of cycling interests in Nova Scotia. We anticipate that this new partnership will provide us with the resources to further our mandate and increase our effectiveness as advocates for mountain bike trails.

We will hold our first meeting of 2012 on Tuesday, January 24th at 7pm at the Old Port Pub, 900 Windmill Road, Dartmouth. Everyone is welcome. Please submit agenda items to me by email no later than 12 noon on the 24th.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the members of BNS for welcoming us on board. I encourage everyone to continue supporting our goal of building and maintaining mountain bike trails in Nova Scotia by becoming members of BNS and lending your voice and your elbow grease to our cause. Let's make 2012 a singletrack filled year.
